This is not the first time the Mercedes-Benz’s new Compact SUV Concept picture leaked online, today we found a new set of better quality images that give us an all-round view of the GLK Freeside. In line with Mercedes’ new development strategy, many of the components used for the upcoming GLK share their design with the parts used in the C-Class. The GLK will powered by a brand new four-cylinder Bluetec diesel displacing 2.2L and producing up to 204hp.
Another higher range spec will be powered by a 3.5L V6 powerplant with 4Matic AWD and a 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox with pseudo manual control. There is some rumoured that AMG will release a high-performance version of the GLK complete with the popular 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 engine, which could post as much as 450hp.
According to Mercedes Benz source said that the GLK should be available in Europe in the forth quarter of 2008 and in North America during the first quarter of 2009, still don't have any news in Asia. Pricing in the U.S. is expected to start at $38,000.
